How does a school keep centered on compliance while increasing student enrollment by 750% in three years?

Given the recent industry trends and the impact of the pandemic, this isn’t exactly a common occurrence. Yet at a time when so many institutions are struggling to fill their classes, the team at Compu-Med Vocational Careers (CMVC) has seen rapid year-over-year growth.

So, how have they done it?

It started when Robert Bonds, President and CEO, bought the school in 2019. Based in Florida, CMVC offers highly-qualified training for healthcare professionals. With programs in Nursing, Dentistry, Phlebotomy, and Patient Care, CMVC trains and upskills the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Bonds immediately recognized that CMVC had tremendous growth potential, but first, it needed to modernize its systems and processes.

The Challenge:
An Institution That Relied Entirely On Paper Documents

The COVID-19 pandemic forced so many schools to rapidly digitize and modernize their operations to survive in the new remote reality. But Bonds was already aware that CMVC needed a new CRM even before the pandemic hit.

“Everything we did was on paper,” Bonds explained. “Our applications, attendance tracking, job placement, you name it.”

The fact that the whole school relied on paper documents created many issues: they were easy to misplace, they were prone to errors, and the manual processes across the institution were very time-consuming. 

The software that the school did have didn’t integrate with other technology, which severely limited the school’s ability to modernize and meet the evolving needs of its student body. 

It was not a profitable or scalable model from a compliance standpoint. Something had to change.

“We were losing money every month,” said Bonds. “We knew that if we wanted to scale, we had to fix this.”

That’s where Verity came in.

“Our team has totally adopted the mantra: ‘If it’s not in Verity, it didn’t happen,’” said Bonds.

“We’re now able to do these things fairly easily because of Verity’s Paperless Campus features,” said Bonds. “Everything from inquiry to job placement I can see inside the software.”

From a school that was relying entirely on paper just a few years ago, CMVC can now budget, forecast revenue, and forecast student enrollment better than they ever could before.
